At the February 4th Commissioner meeting, Commissioner Jeff Kuhl announced that the Hunterdon County Library has put together an exhibit that includes a number of recommended fiction and non-fiction books in honor of Black History Month
Commissioner Kuhl stated; "One of those recommended readings includes ‘March’ written by John Lewis; Andrew Aydin; and Nate Powell. This book offers a first-hand account of the author's lifelong struggle for civil and human rights spanning his youth in rural Alabama, his life-changing meeting with Martin Luther King, Jr., and the birth of the Nashville Student Movement."
Kuhl continued, "As we highlight Black History Month, I also wanted to note that the Hunterdon County NAACP is hosting a Black History Month Celebration on Sunday, February 23rd from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Stangl Plaza which we received an invitation to.
The theme for this year’s event is African Americans and Labor and will feature several speakers, poetry readings, and cultural music."
